Have you been inside the Tokyo Imperial Palace gates?

Unfortunately the palace is generally closed to the public but. Each New Year (January 2) and Emperor's Birthday (Dec 23), the public is permitted to enter through the Nakamon (inner gate) where they gather in the Kyuden Totei Plaza in front of the Chowaden Hall. The Imperial Family appears on the balcony before the crowd and the Emperor normally gives a short speech greeting and thanking the visitors and wishing them good health and blessings.

One of the guard posts with narrow windows to firer arrows at the invading armies.

The wall most be about 30 feet high, but with the tree there your ninja can hoop right over.

It really is a magnificent structure with its moat and high walls, and buildings constructed on the site in 1888.

The surveillance camera was a new addition to the 30 foot wall.

A bit of a view of the inure Tokyo Imperial Palace grounds I would really like to go inside, maybe on Dec 23.
