The Japanese garden of Ginkaku-ji include karesansui,
Japanese rock gardens or Zen gardens, which are meditation gardens where white
sand replaces water. You find at Ginkaku-ji there is mostly kaiyū-shiki-teien,
or a stroll garden, where the visitor follows a path around the garden to see
carefully composed landscapes.
The start of the garden path gives a nice view of the main entrance.
